So these were the top selling outfits that we offered this Christmas. To be honest I was kinda shocked that this is how it turned out. I tried to offer more "winter" choices then Christmas ones but the Christmas ones seemed to sell best. I did not upload the pictures in order but number:

Santa=Success well kinda??

I would have to say seeing Santa this year was a success. There was no tears or screaming bloody murder so that is a huge improvement from the past few years. Ha
With both my girls 3 has seemed to be the magically age that they start to think Santa is ok! I say it was kind of a success because Mia still insisted that Momma be in the picture. She wouldn't sit on his lap just next to him on mine, but I will take that compromise for sure.
However, everytime I see a picture of myself I think two things: 1. Please for the love of God start exercising and lose that weight, and 2. Please start getting more then 4hrs. of sleep a night. I mean that is just ridiculous!!
Haha oh well at least my girls are looking sassy and cute! Mia however my daring we need to teach you to sit like a young lady with a skirt on Ahem...

I know I am the worst blogger ever and I don't think I have done a post since Easter. Sorry it is just so hard to keep up with the kids, work, the buisness, and the blog. Oh how I wish I had a better camera. Sometimes, well most of the time, I feel like the pics just don't do them justice. The colors are so much better in person. However, this is a birthday outfit I did for one of my best clients. I love working with her she always just says do "whatever" I trust you. I love that find of creative freedom. This dress was inspired by the birthday invitation she gave me. The colors are brighter in person on the invitation but it gives you an idea where I got all the colors.

This one is for the same little girl, I think she may just LOVE Hello Kitty right now. haha I also did another Hello Kitty dress for her but it was the Wild Hello Kitty one from a few posts before so nothing new to show there.

This is a shirt I did for a customer last week which I thought turned out super cute

and this I did for Sydne to wear to pre-k today they are having a Dr. Suess Party. However the note the teacher sent home said that the kids are "encouraged to wear Pajamas". I was so bummed I was ready to rock out a super cute outfit but I didn't want her to be the only one not in comfy PJ clothes. So I thought I would just jazz up a comfy pair of knit pants and do a tshirt. The shirt really could have used a ribbon and bow at the bottom or something I just ran out of time and energy, I mean I did do this last night before I had to go to work work! haha I added the little S because Sydne always says I don't put her name on anything( what can I say I like to do hand me downs to Mia) so I put the S thinking it could stand for Sydne or Suess! Sh..... but we will just let her think it is for Sydne! haha

WOW the orders are flooding in I am feeling extremely blessed but I would be lying if I didn't say I am a bit overwhelmed and some days in a panic. haha I PROMISE I am working as hard and fast as I can. I always try to get every order out as fast as possible but I will not compromise quality for quantity. Right now my turn around time is 3-4 weeks. Just a couple other quick things, I work as a nurse three days a week so the best days to contact me through phone would be thur.-sat. Also Beth from Avie Lu's Hairbows will be taking a break for a couple of weeks coming up she is getting her family ready to vacation in Disney. As of yesterday if you have ordered an outfit you will notice the stitching on the inside will look different I have only pinked up until this point but God as finally blessed me with a serger so the quality of your garments will be professional!! YAY can you tell I am excited about this one! This has been afaithful prayer of mine for sometime and it has been answered!! He is so GOOD!!!

I am a super practical mom!! I like things that are cute but are wearable and I love pieces that can be worn a bunch! That is why I tend to like pillowcase dresses, they are cute, comfortable, and practical! They look cute with tights,jeans, and long sleeve shirts in the winter and in the summer all by themselves! As my girls grow they turn into shirts, I mean you can't beat that you really get your money's worth!

When I choose this fabric I thought it was super cute for valentine's day and a little unexpected but I also thought this would be super cute for spring and summer as well! I am loving how these pieces are turning out and just wanted to share a piece with you! Have a great day everyone!

What's in my sewing box!

I get asked a lot what are my favorite sewing tools or what do I use every time I sit down to sew? So here is my absolute must haves everyday by my sewing machine.

I know it seems like a lot of scissors but each one has a distinct job, my pinking shears is what I use to cut ALL my patterns! I use the little tiny curved ones for cutting out appliques and trimming thread, the other ones are used mainly to cut embroidery stabalizer, solvey, etc.... I have two seam rippers just like having the little one for some jobs. The safety pin is for pulling dress ties and elastic through. Everyone has to have a box of pins right?? The wooden dowel isn't really a sewing tool but I find it handy to turn ties right side out and it comes in handy pushing out corners and such. Last but not least I LOVE my little sewing square thingy! haha I measure everything with this little guy, and it was my grandmothers. (Which by the way is were I got the name for my buisness) she was a seamstress but passed away when I was young but I thought the name was fitting!! So there you have it everything I use to create cute little pieces!

What are your must haves by your machine?? Now this is not what is by my embroidery machine but that is a whole other post!!

A while back I decided it was time for the girls to start to share a room (so mommy could have a sewing room and finally get my stuff off the dining room table)! So we got them new bunk beds which to be honest scared me to death so for the first month or so the rule was Mia was not allowed on Syd's top bunk. However, I finally caved and after many turns up and down the latter with mommy watching I decided it was time! They were both soooooo excited they were having so much fun I had to snap a few pics! Lol these two crack me up and are truly the light of my life!!

Sewing room inspiration!

Well we don't live in a very big house, however I did manage to get the girls in one room and they to my relief love it! I got them bunk beds painted and got it all fixed up and they are in girly heaven! So that leaves Mia's old nursery (the small room) for a guest room but most importantly my new sewing room! Yay I can finally get all my stuff off the dining room table and I am go excited about that.

Well I was surfing around on the internet for some inspiration for my small space and I found some great stuff!

This one would be my dream room, I love the cabinets and all the built in shelfs, and the under cabinet lighting would be perfect!
This one is really fun as well. I am loving all the shelving and the glass jars. I have a thing for organizing in this way and it just made me happy!
I thought this is very clever and cheap artwork for a sewing/ guest room. It adds a lot of color but still would give it a more guest feel instead of a workspace feel
This one however just sang to me. I do believe this will be my color scheme I go with I just love the red/black/tan combo, and the damask boxs are just dreamy!
I love the table in this one(I think it is the one I have been eyeballing from Ikea) I just can't make myself drive 6 hours to the closest one so not sure what I am going to do. I also really love the words on the shelf!

So with all this new inspiration my wheels are turning and I can't wait to get started making this room my dream get away space. My goal is to do it as cheap as possible. I think it is time to start hitting the second hand stores! I will post pics when I get it all pulled together!

I know Halloween has come and gone but I thought I would post the outfits I made for my girls this year. Both the jeans and the skirt I found at the end of season last year for a $1.00, yes jeans for $1.00 can you believe it. So I just cutsied them up a bit and there you go. Since Halloween was on a Sunday the girls wore them to church. Ok I am offically done with Halloween now!

Where I live it is starting to get cold and it is time to pull out winter coats and hats. Well my girls do not like wearing hats so I was trying to think of a solution for keeping their ears covered and still looking cute. So I came across these adult her warmer thingys haha So I cut them apart in the back cutesied (not sure that is even a word haha) them up with a little embroidery and sewed the back up smaller to fit their little heads and ta da a alternative to the bulky winter hat!

These two were my girls and I posted them on facebook and they were an instant hit, so I made the two below for a client. The fun thing is you can make them to match their winter coat. Sorry I just am a matchy matchy kinda gal!

This year we had a great time at the pumpkin patch. We went to a new place this year called Breezy Farms and it was great, we loved it! We went with a couple of couples from our church and their kids. I was making some shirts for my girls and thought it would be cute if all the girls matched. These three below are the very best of friends they had such a fun time running around like crazy and then their was......

MIA! Man was she in a mood that day, well come to think of it she is pretty much in a mood everyday. We are smack in the middle of the terrible twos, and they are BAD! Sydne was never like this so it is all new to me but these tantrums are TERRIBLE, and they are everyday. So it is safe to say she did not want her picture taken haha Zoey had to hold her down which made for a very funny pic! This is the best we could get of all of them

We had a great time sliding down the big slide, playing bean bag toss, petting all the animals, playing in the corn, going on a hayride, and walking all 3 mazes! I love days like this, I thank God everyday for my family and love making memories with them!

This St. Louis Ram's outfit was a request from the dad! Haha not to often you get men requesting little girls outfits but I love the way it turned out. I think this daddy is going to be one proud guy come game day!

So I realize I mostly post about my buisness on this blog but every once in a while I like to make it personal as well. I share some about myself my girls and hubby, and today I want to share about another thing that takes front and center in my life, that is my God and my church. I am such a blessed woman beyond what I deserve that is for sure. God has blessed me with an awesome church and church family. We are growing at rapid pace we have doubled our members over the summer and we are just on fire for God. Love and Truth Crainville is a branch of the Love and Truth Ministries out of Jackson TN. I am starting to notice a trend in this buisness. Likes and dislikes often come in waves. It will seem like all I make for 2 months are rompers, then it changes to halters, now we are in the Pillowcase dress phase. I have probably made 20 in the last month it is crazy. Another really popular trend right now is sports team wear pro and high school. I finally had to make a folder on facebook page just for Team Pride wear! However, I always enjoy making whatever makes the client happy. It is also ironic as you will see below I have had a lot of little girls with the name Molly!

Not long ago I made a cute little dress and a shorts romper for two little girls who's mommy LOVES the tarheels, well they are getting ready to go on vacation to NC so the oldest of the three sisters decided that she wanted something to match as well. Well she is older and is not really into dresses or the ruffles anymore so I had to think of something that she would think was "COOL" so this is what I came up with. Just a cute little strapless tank that cinches at the waist to create a cute little bubble top. I think this would look adorable with a pair of white shorts or capris! Hope she thinks so as well!

Laying low and digging deep

So lately at my casa we have just been laying low. I have been working, sewing, loving on my hubby and my beautiful baby girls and that has been about it. Outside of going to church and doing some volunteer work not much is really going on, I spend A LOT of time at home, but I think that is because it is cold and I am soooo ready for spring.

I have been reading a really wonderful book, it is by Beth Moore and it is called "So Long Insecurity" I am really enjoying it, and really taking some refuge in the fact that there are lots of other woman in the same boat as I am as far as self esteem or lack there of, and the huge struggle with all forms of insecurity. I love when I can read and take good council from other strong christian women! I have been doing some major soul searching and really trying to get the root of myself and to be honest I am really enjoying the ride. I really recommend this book it is a must read!!!

Hum... so this is really a rambling of many things but there is just one more thing... God has really shown himself to me recently in proving that if you are faithful he will indeed bless you with the desires of your heart! I will write more later and explain the situation in more detail but I will just say sometimes money just is truly no obstacle if it is meant to be God will make it happen.

Well Ihave had a pretty uneventful week and a half or so, it kind of went like this: Mia was sick, then Sydne was sick, then I was sick, antibiotics complete then back to the doctor Mia was sick, Sydne was sick..... I think you get the picture. So we have all been a bunch of sicklies around our house, somehow my hubby was able to stay health thank goodness because the rest of us have been a mess ! I do believe however we are all on the mend and getting back into the swing of things!

Other then that Sydne started in her new pre-k class and is doing very well, and Mia is doing wonderfully on the potty! If we stay on it she can go a large majority of the day dry without any accidents! Yay!!! I am so ready to be done with diapers!!

I have been doing a lot of sewing I had a few orders this week but I have also been working of some stuff for my girls for St. Patrick's Day and just trying out some new cute summer patterns! I will post some pics in the next couple of days. Well that is about it not much really going on, just trying to hold out for spring, man am I ever ready!!

So this outfit is my very first attempt at creating something without using a pattern. I actually really struggle with creating things in my head, I can read and follow patterns all day but I thought I would give it a shot! It just buttons together at the top and in the back! Syd always wants everything to be red so to convince her to wear jeans I had to add a red ruffle. Ha.. she is such a girly girl. She wore it to school today with a little red shirt under the top it looked pretty cute! Well what do you think should I try more of my own creations or just stick with the patterns??

P.S. I just think she is the cutest little model!! hehe

that make me want to get the camera out, and capture a moment that I want to remember forever! After dinner this evening Syd got a special dessert for eating so well. I had my back turned to the girls doing dishes when I turned around and saw Syd pulling her chair up in front of Mia and saying "sure sis I would love to share my special dessert with you, cause you are so special to me". Of course the tears started flowing down my face and I grabbed the camera and wanted to freeze this one simple moment in time. It was nothing profound or life changing just love shown between two beautiful girls that are both so SPECIAL and BEAUTIFUL to me!

Snow Days!

Yay we finally got some snow this last week! My girls were so excited the problem was it was soooo cold, and I don't mean like 20 degrees. That is pretty tolerable, I mean in the single digits and in the mornings it got to about -5. I however did finally breakdown after 2 days of begging and got us all bundled up and we went out! Ha it took us longer to get ready then the time we spent outside. They were ready to come in after 15 minutes! lol.... When we came in daddy had hot coco with marshmellows and cinnamon waiting so to me at least it made the 15 minutes of pure torture worth it!

So I love to sew I love the way it lets you have complete creative control and the instant gradification you get when you see your finished piece, but my greatest joy when it comes to sewing is seeing the outfits on the kids!! Sometimes moms will send me pics of their little ones in the outfit and I just LOVE IT! We had a great and blessed Christmas this year! We really do try to stress the real meaning of Christmas and really stress how important it is to give rather then receive. However we do tell our little ones about Santa and have fun with that part as well! This year Santa came in a big way!! He even left the girls a note by the empty plate of cookies and milk!! (Good thinking Honey)! Syd was super excited when she walked out and saw this:she just knew she had been a good girl and santa was going to bring her a princess tent, and she was right he sure did. I would say Mia did pretty well for herself as well. I captured her face when she saw it, it was priceless:

Santa Baby

So this year visiting Santa was a great for some not so great for others. Sydne is 3 this year and it is the first year she got within 20ft. of Santa! Not only did she get close to him she sat on his lap talked to him and LIKED it! I was so excited yes finally success!!!!
HOWEVER.... this was Mia's face when she saw Santa from in the line so I knew it wasn't going to be good and......

as you can see she wasn't having any of it she was shaking before I even sat her down the poor thing. I kinda felt like a bad mommy but I told him to just hold on tight and I would snap a quick picture. I think you can tell by the look on Santa's face he was not a fan of this idea either.

Oh well I guess we will try again next year..............................

So many finished-So many unfinished

So since it has been sooooo cold around here lately we have spent most of our time staying home. Small children and 10 degree weather just doesn't really mix well. My dining room/sewing room has been busy busy busy. Here are a few of my recently completed projects.You would think after all that I could go ah....... finally I am done and then I look over and see

that would be my to-do pile! It is screaming at me to because i have had some projects sitting there for some time that really need finishing. The very last pic I posted specifically for my girlfriend Beth who is always asking me how I keep my house so clean.... hahaha I don't think I could even find my dining room table at this point, and yes that is clothes hanging from the chandelier. Good thing for the kids table in the kitchen!

Coming soon will be our trip to Santa, and yes it was very interesting!

So about a year ago we did some major renovations to our house we knocked down the walls between our dining room and living room and pretty much just made the main living area of our house one big open space with the same flooring and all. I was really excited about it until I sat back and thought to myself wow now I need to decorate this whole space as one! So I have done few projects here and there trying to make it all flow together, now I would have to say decorating even though I love to do it does not come easy to me. So my inspiration for the space was to get a color palette and just run with it changing it up with pattern and texture. My palette is brown,black,muted green and cream. What can I say I LOVE neutrals they make me feel relaxed!

So here are a few things I have done! I just love this set of fabrics together they are all very different but similar in color and tone so I think they work well together!

Sydne's Pre-K turkey day

Sydne's Pre-K class did a little skit their last day of school before thanksgiving break and it was so cute. My hubby got a little crazy with the video taking I think he took 6 or something what can I say he is a proud daddy, but I thought this was a cute one. They are saying there poems they learned. Syd is the youngest and the littlest one in the class I think and she does so good we are very proud of her! Here are a few shots of her in her Indian outfit they made in class as well.

I am actually glad he took a lot of video because Mia was less then thrilled about having to sit on my lap in a crowded hot classroom for 30 min. and be quiet. Lets just say I feed her those package of goldfish just as fast as I could!

Thanksgiving Recap

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, I know we did. We had A LOT of people over but I thought it went really great. The food was wonderful, and we played games which is always fun, I ate way to much though!!! All in all very successful 2nd year at our house. I love having it at the house, it is one of the only holidays where we don't have to split it and drag the kids to both sides of the family's houses not that I don't like going over there it is just MUCH easier on me to say the least.

Thanksgiving at the house and the Wicked witch of the West

So we are carrying on the tradition and having thanksgiving at our house this year! I think this year we are going to have 15 over. I love having everyone over and am very excited. It is actually pretty low stress everyone brings a dish or two I make the pies, cranberry sauce and rolls (and drinks) and my hubby fries up the most delicious turkey. Not much involved really, I always like to go all out and decorate the table all pretty. I just love this time of year!! I have so much to be thankful for: first and foremost my children they are healthy, happy, and beautiful what more can you ask for! I am also thankful for my wonderful husband who puts up with a lot, I will have to say I am not the easiest to live with, I am thankful for my job, my house, my family, my friends, and most of all my God. You are so good and I am blessed beyond measure!!! Hope eveyone has a happy and blessed thanksgiving!!

On a side note we have a Wizard of Oz party coming up and syd wants to be the wicked witch of the west so I will be at the sewing table between festivities this week, also I would love for Mia to be a Munchkin but we will see, I might be aiming a little high getting two costumes made this week!

Well today was a pretty yucky day outside it rained and was cold for most of the day, so the girls and I stayed in and played! While Sydne was at pre-k Mia and I just had a good ole time playing dress up in some of her new hats and playing on her Elmo chair! Hope everyone had a good day I know I did. I love the simple moments in life where you look at your children and what God has given you and just are overcome with thankfulness.

I am LOVING this weather!! Can you believe it is in the 70's in the middle of November. We spent most of the day yesterday at the park and in the backyard playing in the sandbox! I just couldn't believe that they were barefoot in the sandbox in November. Hope everyone enjoyed there weekend and this beautiful weather!

Pumpkin Patch and New Fall Outfits!

So I just finished the girls fall/thanksgiving outfits today, and I couldn't be happier on how they turned out! We are going to go out to the park and have pictures taken with all the pretty fall leaves by my good friend Jamie, she is very talented behind the camera so I am super excited, and I can't wait to see the girls in there outfits.

In other news we made it to the pumpkin patch about 2 1/2 weeks ago and the girls had a blast. We played in the corn, went down the big slide, and went on a hayride. We even took Gammy and Daddy along for all the fun. We picked out our pumpkins and then daddy helped carve them. The picture in my header was the one family photo we snapped that day but here are a few of the girls!

We had a good but busy Halloween Weekend. Friday we had a MOMS party for the little ones (which I got no pictures of) I know I feel terrible and then that afternoon I was a helper at Syd's pre-k class party. It was fun the kids were all so cute, Syd wore her spider dress and I spray painted one of her dress up crowns black and hot glued a little black spider on the front and she was a spider princess. I didn't want her to wear her actual costume in fear of her tearing it up.

Then friday night we went to the high school to trick or treat since it was raining and they couldn't have it downtown like usual, it was so crowded so we didn't stay very long, just long enough for the girls to get a sugar high and then back home we went.

Saturday we went to the Marion mall to Boo Bash and it was a good time and the girls got enough candy to last the whole year. We had a good weekend hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!!

Strike 2 and I am Out!

So I love to cook and bake. I would have to say I am usually fairly okay at both, but here lately I have been struggling (with one thing inperticular). So I follow this blog called Bakerella and she is just so stinking creative. On her site she is always making these cute things called cake pops. They are basically little cakes on a popsicle stick and they are CUTE! She also makes it look and sound easy, so I thought I can do that well I found out very quickly they are not so easy after all.

My first attempt was on Mia's 1st Birthday I was going to make the classic shaped ones that look like little cupcakes well to make a long story short I ended up making just round shaped balls that were have falling off the stick but I did get them wrapped and in the centerpieces. I little success but I thought I could do better so.....

For my second attempt I thought little pumpkins would be adorable, I mean they are in the shape of just little round balls so I thought to myself no problem I got this. Well..............

8 Hours later this is what I got....

This was the 3rd Batch of chocolate that I used

(Burned the first 2 trying to watch the baby and bake ya I know what was I thinking trying to do this with a 1yr. old and a 3yr. old)

This was the final product after a whole day of trying to do these things (Note they are not even on the sticks)

So I think it is safe to say I have been defeated by the cake pops and I will just leave it to Bakerella and all the professionals out there to make these cute little tasty treats!
